Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) - MATOC Capital Improvement Program - Los Angeles, CA
NBA is part of 6 teams for LAX MATOC design’s on-call capital improvements program that consists of multiple task orders. The first task order with the Prime consultant and NBA as MEP subconsultant was to provide an above ground infrastructure Assessment and Improvement. Some of LAWA’s infrastructures are nearing or have exceeded their functional design life, therefore LAWA desires to develop an infrastructure capital program (ICP) to help assess, evaluate and recommend improvements to above ground infrastructure systems. LAWA’s goal is to develop a program that ensures that the existing system will mitigate operational failures due to age or condition of the equipment, and is optimized to meet current needs and accommodate future growth.
NBA provided site investigations for HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical systems for three different terminals (T-1, T-2, T-3), as well as their conveyance system control rooms. NBA provided an investigative report for all equipment with a conditional assessment rating, life expectancy and rough order of magnitude (ROM) for equipment that would need replacement, as well as delivery times and an installation schedule.
