NBA designed the HVAC Systems as well as electrical systems for Potrero Switching Station. HVAC areas included 115/230 KV GIS rooms, cable vault, battery room, and 115/230 kV relay rooms. We reviewed project design criteria and drawings, performed cooling load and ventilation calculations, generated specifications, and selected equipment. We also developed HVAC equipment arrangement and duct layout drawings. NBA also coordinated with other disciplines to resolve interface problems, and responded to client reviews and comments. We participated in the City Building Department review and resolved fire safety issues. NBA’s electrical scope was the design of single line diagrams for Transformer Bank #5 and Bank #6, design of building interior lighting and associated controls per California Title 24 requirements, and design of power plans for receptacles and connections of HVAC/mechanical equipment. We performed load calculations for AC & DC panels, prepared lighting fixture schedule, and prepared electrical specifications.
