NBA took part in one of the main demonstration projects that started the LEED trend in working on the Lake View Terrace Branch Library in Los Angeles, CA. The 10,700 sq. ft. Lake View Library, which was completed in 2003, obtained LEED Platinum Certification and was voted by AIA/COTE as a Top Ten Project of 2004 for its eco-friendly design features. Green features include photovoltaic cells which provide 15% of the electricity need. High efficiency irrigation systems were used to reduce site water usage by 50% and high efficiency interior fixtures reduced water use by 30%.
