SFDPW Channel Pump Station

The Channel Pump Station is a dry and wet weather pump station that operates 24 hours per day. NBA inspected the electrical installation of variable frequency drives for 4.160 volt 900 hp motors. Inspection included the testing of the drives and motors to determine energy efficiency which included the measurement of kilowatts, kVars, and kilovolt amps. NBA provided test reports that were submitted to show the results. Reports were reviewed to determine whether or not the results were acceptable. NBA ran additional tests to determine if the harmonics were fed properly into the utility companies’ power system. Start-up tests were run on the drives to determine if they were functioning correctly. NBA also ran various load tests to determine if the reconditioned motors were operating correctly.
