As part of a four-way joint venture, NBA is a prime consultant for this 7-10-year program-wide project. NBA is providing a range of systems engineering design, and other related services, supplementing Metro’s Engineering Department’s resources in support of all Capital projects, State of Good Repair (SOGR) and Joint Venture projects for both Rail and Bus Rapid Transit.  The work has been performed in varying stages including conceptual design, preliminary engineering, final design and/or bidding for construction. The contract estimated value is $145–$150M. Some of the many task orders for different Metro facilities that NBA has provided are listed below:

• NBA provided electrical engineering to support miscellaneous tasks from different department resident engineers for various on-going projects. Some of these tasks included design of multiple Metro parking lots along the new Crenshaw Blvd./LAX Line. Also, NBA reviewed submittal RFI information for a new Southwestern yard. NBA also designed infrastructure for the Orange Line Electric Bus Charger System and was responsible for the Elevator/Escalator monitoring system for all Metro Red Line stations.

• NBA provided electrical review comments to evaluate compliance with applicable codes, Metro Rail Design Criteria, specifications, and standard drawings for the following Metro projects:

  • Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Blue Line Upgrade

  • Patsaouras Plaza Busway Station

  • Division 20 Portal Widening Turnback PWT1

  • Airport Metro Connector (AMC)

  • AMC Demolition and Shoofly

• NBA provided electrical design involving power, lighting, & communications (infrastructure) for the following Metro projects:

  • Culver City Station Expo Line Upgrade

  • Rail Operations Center (ROC) Electrical Vehicle Charging Stations

  • ROC SCADA Office Improvements/Remodel

  • ROC Guard House/Motorized Vehicle Entry Gate

• NBA provided technical support to Metro systems engineering relevant to power/data sources for new Map cases and Digital Kiosks for the Wilshire/Vermont Rail Station.

• NBA updated baseline Metro rail design criteria, specifications, and standard drawings to conform with latest national/local code, federal/state/city regulations/requirements and industry standards.
