San Francisco Fire Department Division of Training Facility - San Francisco, CA

The purpose of the new San Francisco Fire Department Division of Training facility is to provide an upgraded training campus for firefighters and emergency medical technicians to meet the evolving needs of emergency responders. The project is comprised of an administration and classroom building, a firefighter recruit building, an apparatus building for vehicle and equipment storage, a maintenance shop, several controlled live-fire and rescue structures (training tower, apartment/condominium building, commercial structure, Victorian house, vehicle fire), urban search and rescue simulations (earthquake damaged buildings, confined spaces, trenches) and paved roadways with hills to emulate San Francisco topography and street conditions for fire apparatus vehicle maneuvering, fire ladder and fire hose deployment training.

NBA is providing Commissiong Services during the project life cycle (design, construction, warranty phase). This includes peer review of the mechanical and electrical systems during the design phase, providing commissioning specifications and a plan for inclusion, and coordinating the commissioning specs with other specs sections to ensure that commissioning requirements for the construction phase are incorporated into the bid document. NBA is also providing commissioning during the construction phase to verify that mechanical and electrical systems are installed, start-up, and operate under the construction document and basis of design (BOD). Lastly, NBA will provide commissioning during the post-occupancy phase.
