Project Description
Elevated Circulation Roads – A system of two-level roadways running along both sides and in front of the Ground Transportation Center and in front of the International Terminal, connecting to inbound and outbound ramps from I-380 to US-101.

Inbound and Outbound Ramps and Structures – The project involved the northbound exit from US-101, elevated above McDonnell Road, and splitting into two levels to connect to elevated circulation roads at second and third levels of the Ground Transportation Center. The southbound exit from US-101, elevated above US-101 freeway and existing entrance roads, splitting two levels to connect to elevated circulation roads at second and third levels of the Ground Transportation Center. Finally, construction consists of elevated exit ramps from elevated circulation roads at second and third levels of Ground Transportation Center, joining to common elevated roadway, then splitting to a southbound entrance to US-101 and a northbound entrance to I-389 viaduct.

Relocation of McDonnell Road – The demolition of a portion of Parking Lot D and McDonnell Road between 21 and Lot D Entrance Plaza. The construction of New McDonnell Road on grade & restoration of Lot D.

Northbound Connector, I-380 Viaduct to US-101 – The project involve the relocation of the San Bruno Avenue interchange northbound collector road and construction of the new connector roadway from the bottom of the I-380 viaduct.

BARTD-US 101 Overcrossing – The terminus of the Bay Area Rapid Transit District Airport Access project consisted of crossing busy US-101 highway through site of endangered species of the garter snake. The double track rail bridge (designed by FEJA).
Firm’s Role
F.E. Jordan Associates, Inc., in joint venture provided total construction management services for this $220,000,000 terminal, to include project management, project controls, inspection, cost estimating, scheduling and claims.
